It took extra time, but Ironton nipped Chesapeake 56-52 to earn a victory on December 15 in Ohio boys high school basketball.

Last season, Chesapeake and Ironton faced off on January 24, 2020 at Chesapeake High School. Click here for a recap

There was no room for doubt as Ironton added to its advantage with a 9-5 margin in the closing period.

The Fighting Tigers broke in front at the beginning of the fourth quarter with a 43-33 lead over the Panthers.

Chesapeake came from behind to grab the advantage 28-26 at halftime over Ironton.

The Panthers authored a promising start, taking advantage of the Fighting Tigers 17-11 at the end of the first quarter.
