BERNARDS TOWNSHIP, NJ — Staff personnel moves were made by the Bernards Township Board of Education at its meetings in October and Nov. 2.
The board hired two teachers as leave replacements. They are Tyler Brandt as a physical education/health teacher at Ridge High School through Dec. 31, and Kristine Karnick as a Grade 2 teacher at Cedar Hill School, effective Nov. 9. She resigned as an instructional aide at William Annin Middle School, effective Nov. 4.
Shannon Baumann was hired as an instructional support teacher at Oak Street School, effective Nov. 16 through June 30, as a maternity leave replacement.
Priya Singh was named a district wide educational technology assistant through June 30.
Tiffany Zona was hired as secretary to the Director of Information Technology & Facilities, effective Dec. 3, for the school year.
Christopher Zander was appointed choral accompanist at Ridge High School for the school year.
The board accepted the resignations of:
— Patricia Hall, a school aide at Oak Street School, effective Nov. 20;
— Laura Steiner, a special-education in-class support teacher at Cedar Hill School, effective Dec. 18;
— Judy Aronoff, instructional aide at Mount Prospect School, effective Nov. 30. She had been hired Oct. 12 for the school year.
The board hired Kristie Babiarz and Carlos Luciano, Carla Burga and Robin Lane as instructional aides at Ridge High, and Peter Polizzano for William Annin Middle School, all for the school year.
Appointed as school aides for the school year were Wendy Alfieri at Cedar Hill School, and Kruti Kapadia as a part-time aide for Mount Prospect School.
Pamela Collins was appointed a school aide in the nurse’s office at William Annin Middle School through June 22, 2021.
The appointment Robin Lane as a school aide at Mount Prospect School was rescinded as of Oct. 5.
Various leaves were granted to teachers and aides. They are:
n Paid child care and other unpaid leave for Stephanie O’Brien, a kindergarten teacher at Cedar Hill School, from Feb. 21 to Sept. 1, 2021;
n Unpaid federal family leave for Shari Kuzel, a special education teacher at William Annin Middle School, from Sept. 28 to Oct. 28, and for Marguerite LeBeouf, an instructional aide at Cedar Hill School, from Oct. 5 through Nov. 15;
n Unpaid New Jersey Family Leave for Evona Panycia, a science teacher at WAMS, leaving Nov. 9 and returning Dec. 1;
n Paid child care and unpaid state and federal leaves for Joanna Rice, a math teacher at Ridge High, effective Feb. 8, 2021, and returning Sept. 1, 2021;
n A Families First Coronavirus Response Act leave to Jessica Malta, a special education teacher at WAMS, effective Oct. 28 and returning Jan. 4;
n Paid child care and other leaves for Mary Fairbanks, a teacher of Latin at Ridge High, effective March 29, 2021, and returning Sept. 1, 2022, and
n Unpaid federal family medical leave for Allyson Bragg, an instructional aide at Mount Prospect School, effective Nov. 1 and returning Feb. 15, 2021.
