HAMPTON ROADS, Va. – Democrat Joe Biden carried Chesapeake, Hampton, Newport News, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Suffolk and Virginia Beach in Tuesday’s election, flipping Chesapeake and Virginia Beach from 2016.

News 3 Political Analyst Dr. Eric Claville of Norfolk State University says Virginia Beach flipping to Biden surprised him. Claville believes voters in Virginia Beach are about the bottom line and were not happy about the economic fallout from the pandemic.
